shark designs factory
Frequent visits to the Donald Judd created outpost in Marfa, Texas, created an indelible memory – the glow of polished metal in the glare of an unforgiving sun.
As the heat and the light of the day recedes, the metal acquires a new identity – an evocation of its original molten self, glowing red and sometimes even pink, in the fading light of the setting sun. When confronted by the rocky plateau of this barren site in the heart of central India, the echo of Judd’s luminous interventions in the West Texas landscape were unmistakably the driver for this stark steel box – a factory for fine furniture – crafted in metal and wood.
