american embassy school
The renovation of the Middle School Building at the American Embassy School in New Delhi involved the design and construction of new classrooms, student lounges, a theatre, and an administrative office.
A gallery, conceptualised as a vibrant street, forms a space for interaction between students and teachers. Baltic birch ply lockers for students contain built-in benches, planters, pin-up boards and windows that borrow light from the classrooms. Each classroom was designed for maximum flexibility during its usage, while the student lounges form active plazas at the end of the street.
